Team News

Bournemouth
Middlesbrough
  • Jack Wilshere is out for the season after breaking his leg during Bournemouth's 4-0 defeat to Tottenham last weekend. With Dan Gosling and Andrew Surman still doubtful, Lewis Cook may make his first Premier League start since August this weekend.
  • Ryan Fraser, Marc Pugh, Jordon Ibe and Junior Stanislas will all be vying for starts in wide areas this weekend as Eddie Howe looks to arrest their slump in form.
  • Steve Agnew welcomes Calum Chambers back to the team after he missed their 2-1 defeat to Arsenal on Monday due to the terms in his loan agreement from the Gunners.
  • Gaston Ramirez and George Friend also made their returns and the latter should start against Bournemouth after Fabio was forced off against Arsenal with a suspected knee injury. He remains a doubt along with Rudy Gestede.
  • Grant Leadbitter will miss out for the away side after suffering a hamstring injury in Monday's loss, while Victor Valdes is still with a rib injury that ruled him out of the match against Arsenal.

Prediction

  • Bournemouth are now four games without a win and have lost successive league games for the first time in two months, although those defeats were against Chelsea and Tottenham. They are now only seven points above the bottom three but a win here, against a direct relegation rival, would surely secure their Premier League status for another season.
  • Middlesbrough aren't exactly a terrible team but they are so poor in front of goal and seem to lack ideas and a ruthlessness needed to stay in the Premier League. They are six points adrift of safety and this could be their last chance to make a real push for safety. Unfortunately, they haven't won a Premier League game since before Christmas and haven't won away from home in the league since August.
  • Boro beat Bournemouth in the reverse fixture earlier this season but may not get all three points this time. Eddie Howe's side should take a big step towards securing their Premier League status this weekend.

  • draw 1-1 or even 1-2 for Boro/

  • 2-1 Boro, I hope! We need to win this so badly!

  • 1-1 but if Bournemouth win, their safety will be all but ensured.

  • 1-2

  • The cherries win this one @ 2 - 1 j.king and negredo to score

  • Bournemouth 0 - 0 Boro

  • Gaston Ramirez really is not good enough for this level. It has to be said.

  • @Yes It annoys me when people down-vote me without saying why too, lol. Ramirez is a baby, a pathetic little baby who I never want to see playing for Boro again. Also I don't know if Boro made a mistake in sacking Karanka, they made a mistake in getting clueless Agnew to be the new manager. Part of me wanted to give Karanka a go until the end of the season and I feel as if Boro would be safer now, but things happened behind the scenes and I think he had to go to be honest.

  • @Yes Rather than down-voting me tell me why he is. Nothing about his game is good enough attacking wise, extremely lightweight too and weak defensively.

  • @Yes and most of Boro's side. They made a mistake sacking Karanka.
