Team News

Borussia M.Gladbach
Darmstadt
  • Julian Korb could get a chance at right-back, if Nico Elvedi does not recover from a back injury in time.
  • László Bénes and Tobias Strobl provide further options in central midfield.
  • Raffael is fully fit again and should partner Lars Stindl up front.
  • Left-back Fabian Holland is recovering after undergoing heart surgery this week, but of course has to rest now, with Artem Fedetskyy possibly filling in at left-back.
  • Jan Rosenthal could get a chance in attacking midfield, with Jérôme Gondorf possibly starting in a deeper position and Wilson Kamavuaka dropping to the bench.
  • Sven Schipplock is expected to replace Felix Platte up front.

Prediction

  • Gladbach are out of the race for a top-6 spot after back-to-back draws, but could still secure 7th, which would allow them to play in the Europa League play-offs, but only if Dortmund beat Frankfurt in the DFB-Pokal final. They would need a win for this scenario and are dependent on the results of teams above them, making it a rather unlikely case.
  • Darmstadt were relegated as the first Bundesliga team this season, but continued to put in hard-fought displays in the last few weeks. They will look to battle hard in their last game in the top-tier for now and depart the league on a positive note.
  • Expect Gladbach to try to put pressure on Darmstadt from the outset.
