Team News

San Martin San Juan
Talleres
  • Ruben Forestello could name an unchanged side to the one that drew with Colon last week.
  • Leading scorer Pablo Alvarenga will likely continue up front with Nazareno Solis looking to add support off the left.
  • Juan Mattia and Juan Rodriguez continue in central defence after a clean sheet.
  • Junior Arias is expected to come back into the side to partner Dayro Moreno in place of Mauro Ortiz.
  • Federico Navarro returns from suspension to replace Joel Sonora in midfield.
  • Miguel Araujo could start in central defence and so Enzo Diaz will compete with Fernando Bersano for the left-back spot.

Prediction

  • San Martin have to hope that Patronato don't win as they themselves secure victory over Talleres on Sunday to have any chance of staying up. The Verdinegros have one of the worst defensive records in the top flight, but have picked up four of their five wins this season in San Juan, so there is some hope.
  • Defeat to River Plate last week damaged Talleres' hopes for Copa Sudamericana qualification, and so a positive result is required in San Juan if La T are to reach CONMEBOL competition once more. Scoring goals has been the problem and no side has scored fewer than Talleres in the top half of the table.
  • This fixture ended 1-1 last season and a repeat scoreline wouldn't come as a shock as both sides battle for points.
