Team News

Patronato de Parana
Argentinos Juniors
  • Lautaro Geminiani returns from suspension at right-back with youngster Martin Aruga in line for a spot on the left.
  • Gabriel Carabajal is also available again and starts on the left wing with Gabriel Compagnucci providing support on the opposite flank.
  • Damian Lemos is fit to start in central midfield over Gaston Gil Romero.
  • Damian Batallini scored in the Copa Sudamericana in midweek and will continue on the right of the attack supporting striker Claudio Spinelli.
  • Matias Romero and Franco Moyano are likely to continue in central midfield.
  • Despite conceding twice in the defeat to Central last week, Lucas Chaves remains in goal.

Prediction

  • Defeat to Godoy Cruz was a missed opportunity, but Patronato still have the upper hand in the relegation battle and know that victory on Sunday will be enough. Five of their six league wins have come in Paraná, including the last two matches, so Mario Sciacqua will believe that his side have what it takes to not rely on results elsewhere.
  • After a fine run of form had steered Argentinos Juniors clear of relegation, defeat at home to Rosario Central was a disappointing return to the displays of earlier in the campaign. Los Bichos were guilty of wasting chances as they were for long periods of the campaign and so hopefully a win in the Copa Sudamericana during the week will have swiftly brought Argentinos back.
  • Argentinos Juniors have actually been better on the road than in La Paternal, but having had less time to prepare and with Patronato fighting for survival, the home side will fancy their chances of taking the three points required.
