- Turkey should be quietly optimistic about their chances this summer. They have players like Burak Yilmaz and Zeki Celik coming off league-winning campaigns with Lille and plenty of talent in Serie A duo Hakan Calhanoglu and Merih Demiral.
- Marco Verratti hasn't played in either warm-up game for Italy and is still recovering from a knee injury sustained over a month ago. It seems unlikely he will be ready to start Italy's opener against Turkey on Friday.
- Verratti's expected absence should open up the door for Nicolo Barella and Manuel Locatelli to hold down starting berths either side of Chelsea's Jorginho in central midfield.
- Lorenzo Pellegrini tweaked a muscle in training on Wednesday and has been replaced in the squad by Fiorentina's Gaetano Castrovilli.
- Ciro Immobile looks set to get the nod over Andrea Belotti up front for Italy's opening game, while Federico Chiesa and Domenico Berrardi are in competition to complete Italy's front three with Lorenzo Insigne.
