- Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp remains without Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones for the welcome of Aston Villa, but Roberto Firmino is back in training.
- Firmino's return is timely with Diogo Jota a doubt, however, with the Brazilian only recently starting work with the first team again, Divock Origi may lead the charge.
- Joe Gomez and Naby Keita both returned from injury in midweek at AC Milan to boost Klopp's options in defence and midfield, respectively.
- The Reds should go with the same XI that started the 1-0 win at Wolves last weekend.
- Matt Targett will be available for Steven Gerrard at Anfield, but Ashley Young is expected to keep his spot at left-back.
- Gerrard could name an unchanged XI from the side that started the 2-1 win over Leicester, though Morgan Sanson is pushing for a place in midfield.
