Team News

Barcelona
Real Madrid
  • Barcelona will get Ansu Fati back ahead of this one, but it's likely he will come off the bench given he has been out for well over a month.
  • Ronald Araujo will play with a special splint after having an operation on a broken hand, while Frenkie de Jong has recovered from a muscular issue.
  • Pedri and Ferran Torres have since travelled to Saudi Arabia and while neither are likely to start, they could be involved in some capacity.
  • Sergi Roberto and Eric Garcia remain out, while Martin Braithwaite isn't quite match fit.
  • Gareth Bale remains out despite returning from injury, the Welshman sidelined with an unspecified issue.
  • Marco Asensio looks as though he has won the race to start on the right wing, while the rest of the team picks itself.
  • As ever, Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior are the men to look out for, the duo netting 29 La Liga goals between them so far this season.

Prediction

  • Barcelona head to Saudi Arabia on the back of a disappointing draw last time out, giving up a late equaliser against Granada after Luuk de Jong scored his second goal in as many games.
  • That draw followed a Copa del Rey win over Linares Deportivo and a win over Mallorca. The Blaugrana were given a boost this week when new signing Ferran Torres was registered following a new contract agreement with Samuel Umtiti, but he won't be able to play here.
  • Still, some of the good feeling has returned for Barca following that disappointing draw with Granada, and with star striker Ansu Fati also returning, there should be some confidence heading into this tough clash.
  • Real Madrid come into this one after a confidence boost of their own, returning to winning ways following a defeat to Getafe. Carlo Ancelotti's men thrashed Valencia 4-1, with Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior each scoring a brace. The pair are now the top two in the La Liga scoring charts again.
  • Los Blancos remain five points clear at the top of La Liga, albeit having played a game more, and with just one defeat in 16 games across all competitions, they will fancy their chances of making it two Clásico wins from two this season.

  • Araujo exposed. Fraud. At fault for Madrid's first and third goals and partly for their second.

  • @GioMonaldo@GioMonaldo Come on, man. Araujo is easily top5 cb in the world. Nobody stands a chance against him in 1v1. I mean nobody. Similar to VVD. Someimes he makes mistakes in his position, but he actually marks 2-3 forwards. Piqué is OK, but slow, Alba doesnt defend a whole lot, Alves isn't worth mentioning as a defender. So he has to be on the right side correcting Alves, has to be on the center, and one simply cannot mark 2-3 attackers like Vini and Benzema alone. And sometimes he even accomplishes that as well, but not against the 2 best forward in La Liga. Quite understandable. :D

  • @GioMonaldo Ridiculous opinion. They were caught on the counter for every goal. There's nothing wrong with Araujo as a defender. What are you talking about?

  • @Chancho Araujo let Vini run past him and score the first goal, are you blind? if not, maybe watch the goals again. On Madrid's third goal Araujo failed to mark his player (Valverde) bc he was sleeping.

  • @Chancho He's obsessed with the word 'exposed'. He says it to everything.

  • @andrew7taylor it's a beautiful word with a lot of weight to it, I will keep using it.

  • I haven't seen the match but it seems like Xavi is just another fraud who's been exposed. Keep playing that useless defense with chief clown ter Stogie and wonder why we keep losing 15 Clasicos in a row. Insanity.

  • @GioMonaldo Oh yeah, blame Xavi. For someone who didn't watch the match, you sure have a lot of opinions about it.

  • @Chancho who should I blame, your mom? Xavi is in charge and so far he has proven to be in love with this shitty defense.

  • @GioMonaldo Hahaha love your comments

  • @GioMonaldo I know, right? He should be playing the group of world-class defenders and keeper he has on the bench, but he insists on fielding the same players again and again! By all means, please be serious- between the idiots who have blind faith in Xavi being Guardiola 2.0 and Laporta a saint who will save the club, and the not-any-less idiots pointing at Xavi because he isn't working miracles with a mid-table team, it's hard to support Barça these days. All in all Barcelona did well against RM today. It could be way worst.

  • @TheJesus you're right, he shouldn't make any changes to the formation even if the results don't change. Keep playing that German statue who can't make a save and ignore Neto because why try new things to fix problems when you can just ignore you have a problem.

  • @GioMonaldo I understand that you like provoking people, but come on, your sentences just soo dumb. :D Neto for example had his 2-3 month, and it was horrific. Even the Copa del rey just some days ago, did you see, what he's done? And he can't make a straight pass, which is quite an important thing in Barca's game. Stegen had a bad 1,5 year since the 2-8, but he's actually improving in the last weeks quite a bit. And Xavi changed the formation during the match, that was one of the reasons we saved the match to draw after 90 minutes. Come on man, next time just watch the match instead of hallucinating something... :D

  • @lettherightonein92 I couldn't watch the match bc I was at work, bozo. I watch EVERY SINGLE Barca match when I'm free. Neto deserves more chances, if ter Statue got so many chances even after embarrassing our club with that horrible 8-2, then why shouldn't Neto get a few more chances? Neto would never concede 8 fkn goals in a match even against bayern, that's a fact. Also I'm not saying Neto is overall better than Stegen, but since Stogie is currently out of form he should be benched until he regains his form.

  • @GioMonaldo You can even record it and watch it later. But that's not the point. The point is that you're talking dumb things about a match that you didn't even see. :D Don't you feel the problem with that...? For example you had the guts saying that Xavi didn't change formation, it is hilarious this way (I mean not watching the match). Or that Araujo is "exposed" bc he couldnt hold alone 2 world-class in-form attacker every single time, which is an impossible task. You saying all these blindly can only be seen as provocation. ter Stegen HAD TO play against BM that day INJURED. Because Neto is so weak that he just couldnt play. And Neto proved this time and time again. TS even in this bad (but getting better) form is better than Neto. Or you didn't see the Copa meccs where he was the goalkeeper a week ago? It was tragic, as well as the 1-2 month he played 1,5 year ago.

  • Well played Barcelona . Keep going with this performance . Luck was not with us today . But Great game ...

  • That was unexpected but on to the final we go lol

  • Unlike the last few Clasicos, this one was actually fun to watch. Barcelona performed admirably, but Real Madrid deserved their win.

  • How is this not a featured game? Sloppy game from madrid overtly cautious, but with benz and vini duo one can never go wrong. Hala Madrid:)

  • Barcelona has become one of the worst teams in Europe. It's not even Top 30 anymore

  • @neumi17 yeah 3-2 against a UCL favourite definitely one of the worst lol stfu kid

  • What's up with all the Cyrillic letters?

  • What's wrong with Xavi? He still has this horrible toilet brush haircut and the same ripped denim trousers he wore twenty years ago. Whatever. Unwatchable boring football.

  • @BeautifulLoser a professional can help you deal with your mental issues

  • @GioMonaldo A caliber .45 might help with yours.

  • @BeautifulLoser like I said, seek help.

  • @GioMonaldo Geh sterben, Trottel.

  • So the Spanish Supercopa has become a mini tournament. Hilarious! Spanish football is so sick.

  • @BeautifulLoser total cash grab

  • Match Draw I think ... 0-0

  • Easy for win for Madrid. 0-4.

  • @Elluso250 nothing is easy for this madrid side. they are pretty terrible, lets be honest. its just that barcelona are even worse, so madrid are made to look better than they really are.

  • @uefalona Exactly, that's why it is an easy win for Real because Barcelona is so incredibly bad.

  • @neumi17 you still posted this even after seeing the result kill yourself lol 3-2 if anything madrid should be ashamed it was even that close

  • @uefalona it’s obvious u don’t follow Laliga . For you to call Madrid terrible . Lol
