Team News

Southampton
Tottenham
  • Tino Livramento and Juan Larios both continue to miss out for Southampton.
  • Ainsley Maitland-Niles and former Tottenham man Kyle Walker-Peters will be assessed.
  • James Bree may deputise for the latter if required to do so, while Theo Walcott and Romeo Lavia could return to the starting XI.
  • Emerson Royal remains a doubt for Tottenham, so Pedro Porro can be expected to keep his spot in the side.
  • Ryan Sessegnon, Rodrigo Bentancur, Hugo Lloris and Yves Bissouma continue to miss out.
  • Antonio Conte may go with the same XI that started the 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest last week.

Prediction

  • Southampton were in action in midweek as they fell to a 2-0 home defeat to Brentford to leave them rooted to the foot of the table. Saints, to their credit, do have a solid home record against Tottenham, losing only one of their last six at St. Mary's against the north London side.
  • That win for Spurs, however, was a resounding 5-2 win back in 2020. What they wouldn't give for a repeat on Saturday as they look to end a four-game losing run on the road.
  • Saints have the worst home record in the Premier League and despite Spurs' poor form on the road, they should return to the capital with all three points in tow.

  • I'm glad Southampton drew but that was never a penalty.

  • Southampton have been terrible at home this season but seem to raise their game against clubs from London. To date, Arsenal, Chelsea, and West Ham have all failed to leave with three points. The 2-0 win by Brentford (this week) is so far the only exception. Palace, Fulham, and Tottenham have yet to play there in the league.

  • Conte has had all week to prepare so surely Tottenham will have enough to win here. Southampton to score from a free kick (JWP), Tottenham to score from a long shot and header (Porro and Kane). Southampton 1-2 Tottenham

  • The good news is Sonny is back in form!

  • It doesn't excuse the poor defending by Tottenham but that penalty was soft.

  • Spurs Win

  • 1X or BTTS

  • Soton 2-1 fo shore

  • 1-2 Kane

  • Tottenham have to secure place in top 4 , so it would not be better occasion to grab points only with weakest in table.
