Team News

Man City
Fulham
  • Manuel Akanji joined Kevin De Bruyne and John Stones on the sidelines due to illness last time out so it remains to be seen if he will recover in time for the visit of Fulham.
  • Elsewhere Pep Guardiola has a clean bill of health, with Jeremy Doku hoping for his first minutes in a City shirt and Matheus Nunes set to be in the building and able to take a place in the squad.
  • Phil Foden may well return to the side, with Julian Alvarez perhaps in line for a rest.
  • It's one in one out for Fulham as Tim Ream is set to return from the suspension in place of Calvin Bassey, who received his marching orders at Arsenal.
  • Willian missed out against his old club due to fitness concerns having been heavily linked with a move that would see him follow Aleksandar Mitrovic to the Saudi Pro League.
  • The Cottagers have secured a deal for Timothy Castagne this week and the Belgian could feature here.
  • Joao Palhinha, meanwhile, is a top target for Bayern, who must decide whether to mean Fulham's apparent £80m valuation of their star man.

Prediction

  • Manchester City needed a late winner from Rodri to beat a Sheffield United side most backed them to overcome convincingly but thus far this season has been anything but from Pep Guardiola's side.
  • Fulham will be buoyant after eliminating Tottenham from the cup in midweek to follow up an exceptional point at the Emirates but will be far less so should they lose Palhinha before the window closes, with the Portuguese set to play a pivotal role this weekend.
  • City starting the season slowly isn't uncommon but the difference is they have picked up maximum points regardless this time around, which is ominous for the rest of the league.

  • 3-0 or 4-1, Haaland to score at least twice. Fulham allowed the most chances against so far in the league.

  • @koziol.mutant Incredible prediction so far

  • haaland to score, city to win, ez pz les gooooo

  • Alvarez to start

  • @Ahmedosamazayed for Silva

  • Haaland hattrick....finally, the fraud... :)

  • What the hell is going on in the Premiership in terms of referring as well??? City's 2nd goal was clearly offside, as Akanji was interfering with the play (he was in Leno's line of vision). Even after the VAR the referee was awarding a goal: I think the referees are clearly paid off.....

  • @Zoltan Wasn't blocking the view of the ball/touching the ball.

  • How many new boys will Pep trust for this match? With no KDB, he must try other creative sparks right? Haaland must start scoring to stay ahead of the golden boot race...

  • Over 2.5

  • ....and why is the Premiership catastrophic? Because they spend a fortune on strengthening their teams (like Westham) and then they don't know how to use those new players: they play for safety and ball possession instead of focusing on scoring goals (the latter should be obvious when you have good players at your disposal). Also, the pace of the game is too slow, allowing for opposing defences to set themselves up properly, which in turn kills any turnover or goal scoring opportunity.

  • Premiership teams are catastrophic: WestHam for example was defending his poor 1 goal lead for most the game yesterday against the last team of the league! Ridiculous! Will we see the same thing from City today??? Anything can be on the card - Haaland even missed a penalty last time!

  • @Zoltan good observation
