Team News

Watford
Plymouth
  • Two Watford players are doubtful for Saturday's clash with Tom Ince yet to feature in a matchday squad this season and Jeremy Ngakia carrying a knock from Tuesday's Carabao Cup clash.
  • With Ngakia expected to miss out this weekend, Ismael could hand a start to academy graduate Ryan Andrews.
  • Steven Schumacher could opt for the same starting XI that beat Huddersfield on the opening day when his side make the daunting trip to Vicarage Road on Saturday.
  • Summer signing Finn Azaz continues to build up his fitness levels, while Mickel Miller remains doubtful after missing Tuesday night's clash with Leyton Orient.
  • New addition Luke Cundle should make the bench after signing from Premier League club Wolves.

Prediction

  • Watford kicked off the Valerien Ismael in style last weekend, scoring four goals inside the first half of their game against QPR to ensure their place as the gameweek one table toppers. A midweek penalty-shootout defeat to Stevenage in the Carabao Cup will do little to dampen spirits in the Hornets' camp.
  • Plymouth got their fairytale return to the second tier of English football when they welcomed Huddersfield to Home Park on the opening weekend. The Pilgrims were immense on home soil during their title-winning campaign last season and keeping that momentum running into the 2023/24 season will do wonders for their survival hopes.
