Team News

Middlesbrough
Huddersfield
  • Michael Carrick could hand a debut to left-back Lukas Engel, who has swapped Silkeborg for the Riverside.
  • Marcus Forss and Jonny Howson will both be pushing for recalls this weekend following a dismal display against Coventry last time out.
  • Striker Emmanuel Latte Lath has joined from Italian club Atalanta, but this game will likely come too soon for him to start.
  • Neil Warnock could hand a start to left-back Rarmani Edmonds-Green with Josh Ruffels dropping to the bench.
  • Young defender Jaheim Headley is available after serving his suspension, but he will likely only make the bench on Saturday.

Prediction

  • Middlesbrough's pre-season optimism is nowhere to be seen with the Teessiders sitting bottom of the Championship table after the opening two games of the season. The home side have failed to score in either of their league outings this season and look extremely light in the attacking department.
  • Huddersfield demonstrated a much-improved performance level last weekend, but that won't make fans feel any better following a narrow 1-0 home defeat to recently relegated Leicester. Neil Warnock's men have lost each of their three games across all competitions this season, including in the Carabao Cup against Saturday's hosts.
