Team News

Real Betis
Real Madrid
  • Hector Bellerin is suspended for this match after receiving a straight red card against Almeria last weekend. Aitor Rubial should come in to replace him.
  • Willian Jose, although substituted early due to Bellerin's sending off last week, should be relied upon again as the main goal threat for Manuel Pellegrino's side.
  • Luka Modric has picked up a fresh injury and might be unavailable for selection.
  • Real Madrid should go with the starting eleven above - they have very little room for manoeuvre due to numerous ongoing injuries.

Prediction

  • Real Betis were more than disappointed last weekend against Almeria, drawing 0-0 and failing to score - Hector Bellerin was shown a red card forcing Aitor Rubial to start this weekend against Real Madrid, as well as their Copa del Rey clash with Villanovense.
  • Real Madrid have no European action this week and do not feature in the Copa del Rey this week, either. With a full week to recover they could see some returning players as Luka Modric is back on grass. Arda Guler, Aurelien Tchouameni, Dani Carvajal, and Vinicius will all have to wait til the new year to return to action.
  • Betis could take advantage of the visitors' thinned squad, but real have been able to overcome this reoccurring challenge time and time again this season to sit at the top of the table over Girona, who have an essentially clear injury table...
