Team News

Barcelona
Rayo Vallecano
  • Ilkay Gundogan returns from suspension and will pose as an extra option in midfield for Xavi.
  • 17-year-old Hector Fort managed 73 minutes at left-back and registered an assist against Almeria. Not bad for his fourth ever start in the senior side.
  • Fermin scored both goals on Thursday night - he is becoming a true Barcelona starlet under Xavi this season.
  • Oscar Trejo is suspended for this one having been showed a straight red in the 2-1 victory over Granada.
  • Sergio Camello seems to be the mainstay in the Rayo attack going into next season - he has started four matches in a row as the sole striker.

Prediction

  • Barcelona play their final game at home on Sunday afternoon against a 15th placed Rayo Vallecano side. Barca could make it three victories on the trot if they were to run out victors this weekend - Rayo have little to play for now as their midweek win confirmed their safety in La Liga going into next season.
  • Rayo haven't scored in five away matches on the spin and Barcelona seem to be waiting to pounce. Under Andoni Iraola Rayo were able to defeat this weekend's hosts 2-1 back in April 2023, but are now a much different side with a footballing identity they are yet to find.
