- Nick Montgomery made two changes from Hibernian's 2-0 victory against St Johnstone in their last Scottish Premiership match, before winning their League Cup quarter-final 4-2 against St Mirren at Easter Road on Wednesday night.
- Elie Youan replaced Jair Tavares in the starting eleven, on the left-hand side of midfield, and netted Hibs' equaliser against Saints. Martin Boyle, on the other flank, proved the midweek matchwinner with a late brace against the Buddies.
- Rory Whittaker became Hibernian's youngest-ever player at the weekend against St Johnstone and was on the bench once more. Christian Doidge replaced Adam Le Fondre to partner Dylan Vente, who fired the Hibees ahead, up front.
- Dundee boss Tony Docherty made three changes from the Dee's 3-0 Scottish Premiership defeat away at reigning champions Celtic, before a late thriller against Kilmarnock finished in a 2-2 draw at Dens Park last Saturday.
- Jordan McGhee replaced Cammy Kerr at right back to join Joe Shaughnessy, Ricki Lamie and Owen Beck in the Dundee defence. Youngsters Finlay Robertson and Ryan Howley - on loan from Coventry City - dropped out of the starting eleven.
- They were replaced by Scott Tiffoney who started on the left flank and Josh Mulligan, who played on the right but was sent off against Killie and will miss this match. Zach Robinson and Amadou Bakayoko continued to lead the line for the Dee.
