Team News

Dundee FC
Hibernian
  • Dundee boss Tony Docherty made just one change from the Dee team that clinched a 1-0 win at home to Livingston on Sunday afternoon, before they battered St Mirren 4-0 at Dens Park prior to the international break.
  • Jordan McGhee stayed at right wing-back, with Owen Beck continuing to impress at left wing-back as the Dee persisted with a back three. Malachi Boateng joined Lyall Cameron and Luke McCowan in the midfield trio, at Mo Sylla's expense.
  • Zak Rudden, who scored Dundee's second against Saints before half-time, to partner Amadou Bakayoko - who bagged a brace - in attack. Zach Robinson came off the bench to add his name onto the scoresheet so is also pushing to start.
  • Nick Montgomery made two changes from the Hibernian team that drew 2-2 in Paisley against St Mirren, before they picked up a much-needed 1-0 win over Kilmarnock at Easter Road prior to the international break.
  • Rory Whittaker made his first senior start in Paisley, but made way for Lewis Miller to retake his spot at right-back. He joined Will Fish, Rocky Bushiri and Jordan Obita in the Hibees' back four.
  • Josh Campbell netted the winning goal from the right hand side of midfield. However the Hibees main man Martin Boyle also came back into the fold, replacing Élie Youan in the starting XI , to partner Dylan Vente up front.

Prediction

  • Two points and two places separate Dundee, in the top six of the Scottish Premiership table, and Hibernian who are sat in seventh spot ahead of this weekend's fixtures.
  • The Dee are making their transition back into a top-tier team seem seamless after an impressive thumping of third-placed St Mirren before the international break. Dundee are seven points clear of Livingston at the foot of the table, so are far from trouble at this early stage of the season. They'll be looking in and around them right now, hoping to stay there for the foreseeable future.
  • Hibs stopped a recent run of draws thanks to a slender victory over a Kilmarnock team that cannot play away from home. The Hibees will be disappointed that the international break arrived when it did, having just put an end to picking up a point at a time. They head to Dundee hopeful that they can record back-to-back league victories and propel themselves into the top six here.
  • There are three teams to have drawn five or league matches so far this season and two of them meet here, so a share of the spoils wouldn't be surprising at Dens Park this weekend.
