Team News

Livingston
Celtic
  • Davie Martindale named two changes to the Livingston team after Livi fell to a late sickener which saw them draw 1-1 with St Mirren, before that proved the scoreline in the Highlands as they took on Ross County last weekend.
  • Shamal George continued in goal with Mikey Devlin, Ayo Obileye and Luiyi de Lucas staying in the Lions' back three. Jamie Brandon had previously replaced the injured Cristian Montaño at right wing-back with James Penrice moving to the left.
  • Andrew Shinnie and Jason Holt are the current partnership in midfield. In attack, Stephen Kelly and last Saturday's scorer Bruce Anderson replaced Scott Pittman and Kurtis Guthrie.
  • Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers made three changes to the Celts side that swept Dundee aside 3-0 at Parkhead, before their Champions League opener ended in a 2-0 defeat to Dutch side Feyenoord in Rotterdam on Tuesday night.
  • Gustaf Lagerbielke was sent off at De Kuip in midweek, after replacing Liverpool loanee Nat Phillips in the Hoops' backline, as he partnered Liam Scales in defence. Reo Hatate made his first start of the season, replacing David Turnbull in midfield.
  • In attack, Luis Palma made his first Celtic start as he accompanied Japanese duo Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi. South Korean winger Hyun-Jun Yang dropped out of the team that beat Dundee in their last Scottish Premiership match.

Prediction

  • After beating Celtic in the first league meeting the campaign before last, Livingston fell to three defeats from three games against the Hoops in the Scottish Premiership last season.
  • Livi have enjoyed an indifferent start to the Scottish Premiership season, having only lost one of their opening five league matches. That being said, they've only won one too with their opening day stalemate against Aberdeen now succeeded by back-to-back draws. It's been just over two years since they last beat Celtic in the league and they'd love an overdue victory against them here.
  • Celtic head home having been destroyed by Dutch outfit Feyenoord, with their 2-0 loss not appearing too disheartening a defeat. However, they lost their discipline having been reduced to nine men with the hosts having a further goal ruled out and missing a penalty. They're looking to keep their unbeaten start to the domestic campaign going and get back to winning ways in this one.
  • Livi have proved a tough nut to crack for Celtic the past few seasons, but the Hoops do tend to find a way to get the better of Livingston and should do so again in the early Saturday kick-off.
