Team News

Livingston
Dundee FC
  • Davie Martindale named five changes to the Livingston team that fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to Hearts before the winter break, as they responded by knocking Raith Rovers out of the Scottish Cup at home by the same scoreline on Saturday.
  • Shamal George came back in to replace Jack Hamilton between the sticks. Michael Nottingham and Mo Sangare replaced Ayo Obileye and Tom Parkes - who has left Livi for Hartlepool United - in the Lions' backline to join club captain Mikey Devlin.
  • Cristian Montaño replaced James Penrice at left wing-back. Stephen Kelly took Steven Bradley's spot as part of the duo supporting lone striker Kurtis Guthrie. Dan MacKay netted what proved the winning goal off the bench and is pushing for a start in this one.
  • Dundee boss Tony Docherty named five changes to the Dee team after they were knocked out of the Scottish Cup by Kilmarnock in Ayrshire thanks to two early goals in a 2-0 defeat, before a 3-2 loss to Hearts at Tynecastle on Tuesday.
  • Trevor Carson was reinstated in goal, taking Adam Legzdins' place in midweek. New signing Owen Dodgson joined Joe Shaughnessy and Lee Ashcroft in the Dee defence, at Ryan Howley's expense.
  • Malachi Boateng and Lyall Cameron, who slotted the visitors two to the good at Tynecastle, replaced Josh Mulligan and Mo Sylla in the middle of the park. Zach Robinson replaced Scott Tiffoney to accompany Amadou Bakayoko in attack.

Prediction

  • Livingston claimed their first victory in 14 matches after their weekend win in the Scottish Cup, and face a Dundee side who have lost back-to-back games in separate competitions.
  • Livi avoided a potential banana skin in the Scottish Cup, coming from behind to beat Scottish Championship league leaders Raith Rovers at the Tony Macaroni Arena. Cups are key for the Lions to generate some more precious income but, currently stuck to the foot of the Scottish Premiership table, they'd probably swap any success at Hampden for another year in Scotland's top flight.
  • Dundee will be disappointed that they spurned a glorious chance to leave Edinburgh with a win, blowing a two-goal lead to Hearts at Tynecastle on Tuesday night. In what proved a game of two halves, the Dee were full value for their half-time lead but succumbed to three goals in the second period. However, this is a great chance to get back to winning ways and right those wrongs.
  • Livi have lost both league meetings to Dundee this season without scoring a goal. Having rediscovered a goalscoring touch, it'll be trickier for the Dee to leave Livingston with a win this time around.
