Team News

St. Mirren
Ross County
  • Stephen Robinson named two changes to the St Mirren side that was brushed aside by Rangers 2-0 at Ibrox on Sunday, before a late loss to St Johnstone by a sole goal on Wednesday night.
  • Charles Dunne replaced Richard Taylor, to rejoin Alex Gogic and Marcus Fraser in the Buddies' back three. Ryan Flynn started at right wing-back, with Scott Tanser continuing at left wing-back.
  • Club captain Mark O'Hara and Caolan Boyd-Munce continued as the midfield partnership. But a slight change of shape saw Conor McMenamin drop out for Lewis Jamieson to partner Jonah Ayunga in attack.
  • Ross County boss Derek Adams named an unchanged Staggies side after their sole-goal victory over St Mirren in Dingwall, before a comfortable 3-0 victory over Motherwell in the Highlands on Tuesday night.
  • Ryan Leak, Jack Baldwin and Will Nightingale, who was sent off against the Steelmen, continued as the back three. Ben Purrington, Scott Allardice, Connor Randall and James Brown are the chosen four-man midfield at present.
  • Yan Dhanda - who put County two to the good against Motherwell - supported Simon Murray, who fired home the opener, in attack. Jordan White scored the only goal the last time these two teams met, so should also continue up front.

Prediction

  • St Mirren haven't won in three consecutive Scottish Premiership matches, meanwhile Ross County haven't lost in their three league games.
  • The Buddies have lost three Scottish Premiership games on the spin, including narrowly to County in the Highlands less than a fortnight ago, falling to fourth place after such a strong start to the season. Saints have only lost one league game at home so far this season, as Rangers made the most of their numerical advantage with a 3-0 win, with the bulk of their points coming in Paisley.
  • The Staggies have kept back-to-back clean sheets, against Saints and Motherwell, after their game last weekend on Livingston's 'all weather surface' was postponed due to the weather. County are yet to concede a goal since Derek Adams returned to the club, so have proved tough to beat in three games so far and are looking to build on just one victory away from home in the league.
  • It proved a tight match up in Dingwall between these two teams, but Saints will hope that their home form can carry them to take at least a point against a rejuvenated Ross County.
