Team News

Aberdeen
St. Mirren
  • Aberdeen boss Barry Robson named four changes to the Dons team that lost the League Cup final by a sole goal to Rangers at Hampden, before they came from behind to beat Livingston 2-1 at Pittodrie over a week ago in their last match.
  • Slobodan Rubezic was suspended so Angus MacDonald took his place in the Dons defence, accompanying Richard Jensen and Stefan Gartenmann. Jonny Hayes and Jamie McGrath made way for James McGarry and Dante Polvara in midfield.
  • Duk accompanied Bojan Miovski, who bagged a brace, in the Aberdeen attack as Ester Sokler was sat on the substitutes' bench. Shayden Morris came off the bench against Livingston but hasn't managed to break into the team as of yet.
  • Stephen Robinson named two changes to the St Mirren side that fell to defeat against Hearts at Tynecastle as they lost 2-0 on Saturday, before a rare home loss at the hands of Kilmarnock as they lost 1-0 in Paisley on Wednesday.
  • Richard Taylor remained alongside Alex Gogic and Marcus Fraser in the Buddies' backline. Thierry Small was previously filling in at right wing-back but James Bolton took his spot on the flank as Scott Tanser played at left wing-back.
  • Keanu Baccus continued to accompany club captain Mark O'Hara in midfield. Greg Kiltie pushed further forward to support Toyosi Olsuanya - in for the injured Alex Greive - and Jonah Ayunga in attack.

Prediction

  • Seven points separate Aberdeen in eighth, with Saints in fifth, although the Dons have four games in hand on the Buddies.
  • Aberdeen have had to face consecutive postponements, but that hasn't had too much of an impact on their league position. The Dons are still languishing in eighth but are well aware that if they can make the most of their games in hand, they'll soon ascend up the Scottish Premiership table. A win against another top-six team only helps them on their mission to finish as 'best of the rest'.
  • St Mirren occupy a spot in the top half for the time being, but are hopeful of proving that their bubble hasn't burst. No goals scored in three league games, being held at home by a poor Motherwell, back-to-back defeats against Euro-chasing rivals Hearts and Kilmarnock have seen them slip to fifth with Hibs, Dundee and opponents Aberdeen all having games in hand on them.
  • Despite a disrupted schedule, Aberdeen have won back-to-back league games and will want to win a third on the spin against a St Mirren side that's lost consecutive league matches.
