Team News

St. Mirren
Aberdeen
  • Stephen Robinson named an unchanged St Mirren side after the Buddies bounced back with a 2-0 win over St Johnstone in Paisley, before they were held in the Highlands by Ross County in a 1-1 draw in midweek.
  • James Bolton took Charles Dunne's place to join Alex Gogic and Marcus Fraser in the Buddies' backline. Scott Tanser and Elvis Bwomono continued at left wing-back and right wing-back respectively. Club captain Mark O'Hara was back on the bench.
  • Celtic loanee Kwon Hyeok-Kyu and Caolan Boyd-Munce remained in midfield. Greg Kiltie and Lewis Jamieson supported Mikael Mandron, who sealed the deal against St Johnstone on Saturday afternoon. Toyosi Olusanya scored in midweek so is pushing to start here.
  • Interim Aberdeen boss Neil Warnock made four changes from the Dons' 2-0 defeat to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Saturday afternoon, before they lost to St Johnstone in midweek by the exact same scoreline.
  • Angus MacDonald entered a back three, joining Stefan Gartenmann and Richard Jensen in the Dons defence. Nicky Devlin and Jack MacKenzie made way, for Jack Milne and Jonny Hayes starting at right wing-back and left wing-back.
  • Dante Polvara and Duk dropped to the bench, as Leighton Clarkson joined Connor Barron and club captain Graeme Shinnie in midfield. Jamie McGrath supported Bojan Miovski in attack.

Prediction

  • St Mirren are looking to head fourth top, with Aberdeen looking to climb away from fourth bottom in the Scottish Premiership table.
  • St Mirren will be disappointed with a draw away to Ross County on Tuesday night, but sit just one point behind fourth-placed Kilmarnock after Killie lost to Rangers on Wednesday night. Rather than focusing on VAR or contentious decisions, the Buddies need to get back to doing the basics well. Against an out-of-form Aberdeen, they've got a solid chance for another three points here.
  • Before midweek Aberdeen had drawn their last four Scottish Premiership games at Pittodrie, as many as their previous 28 beforehand. Defeat to St Johnstone has the Dons looking nervously over their shoulder, four points clear of Ross County in the relegation playoff place. They need a result from somewhere, performance isn't pivotal, but they're up against a team that are solid at home.
  • Despite a controversial 2-2 draw in Paisley earlier on in the campaign, St Mirren embarrassed Aberdeen at Pittodrie and the Buddies should beat the Dons this weekend again given their dismal form.
