Team News

Livingston
St. Mirren
  • Davie Martindale named three changes to the Livingston team that lost by a sole goal to Kilmarnock in Ayrshire last midweek, before the Lions booked their place in the Scottish Cup quarter-final with a 3-2 comeback away to Partick Thistle.
  • Michael McGovern replaced Shamal George in goal last Saturday against the Scottish Championship outfit. Stephen Kelly replaced Steven Bradley as one of the duo supporting Livi's sole striker.
  • Joel Nouble announced his arrival, replacing David Carson, with a brace as Livi came from two goals down to beat the Jags. Tete Yengi nodded home late on against Thistle to set up a quarter-final against cup holders Celtic next month.
  • Stephen Robinson named three changes to the St Mirren side that clinched a 2-0 victory over Dundee in Paisley last midweek, before the Buddies were knocked out of the Scottish Cup by Celtic as the Hoops won by the same 2-0 scoreline.
  • Charles Dunne entered the Saints' back three, replacing James Bolton who was sent off against the Dee, to accompany Marcus Fraser and Alex Gogic. Kwon Hyeok-kyu is on loan from Celtic and didn't feature against his former club.
  • Keanu Baccus, therefore, came back into midfield to partner Caolan Boyd-Munce in the middle of the park. James Scott made way for Lewis Jamieson to join Greg Kiltie and Mikael Mandron in the Buddies' attack.

Prediction

  • Livingston progressed in the Scottish Cup to set up a quarter-final against a Celtic side who knocked St Mirren out of the same competition at the weekend.
  • Livi have put all their eggs into the Scottish Cup basket, overcoming two tricky ties against strong Scottish Championship teams in Raith Rovers and Partick Thistle, but have yet to replicate those results in the Scottish Premiership. Rock bottom, trailing Ross County by six points and having played two matches more than the Staggies, time is marching on for the Lions to prolong their top-tier stay.
  • For St Mirren, their exit in the Scottish Cup was disappointing but attention now turns towards bettering last season's sixth-place finish. Nine points ahead of seventh-placed Hibernian, Saints are in pole position to do so. The possibility of European football coming to Paisley could be one step closer with victory here, as the Buddies have won back-to-back league games and are aiming for three on the spin.
  • Two late goals saw the teams share the spoils in West Lothian back in September. However, Saints snuck past Livi in Paisley at the end of November and will fancy repeating that feat here.
