Team News

Livingston
Celtic
  • Davie Martindale named three changes to the Livingston team that was knocked out of the Scottish Cup as they lost 4-2 to holders Celtic in Glasgow, before a 3-0 defeat to Hibernian at Easter Road in the Lions' last Scottish Premiership game.
  • Shamal George returned between the sticks, taking Michael McGovern's place. An unchanged back four of Cristian Montaño, Sean Kelly, Ayo Obileye and Jamie Brandon were chosen in Edinburgh before the international break.
  • Michael Nottingham and the ineligible Dan MacKay made way for Livi to change to a three man midfield of Stephen Kelly, Jason Holt and David Carson. Joel Nouble and Steven Bradley supported lone striker Tete Yengi.
  • Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers named two changes to the Celts side that booked their place in the Scottish Cup semi-finals with a late 4-2 victory over Livingston, before a 3-1 win over St Johnstone in their last Scottish Premiership outing.
  • Liam Scales picked up an injury, so Cameron Carter-Vickers returned to the Hoops defence. He joined Alistair Johnston, Stephen Welsh and Greg Taylor in the backline for the game against St Johnstone prior to the international break.
  • An unchanged midfield trio continued in the middle of the park, Celtic still missing club captain Callum McGregor. Daizen Maeda and Nicholas Kühn supported the returning Kyogo Furuhashi, in place of Adam Idah, who scored the Hoops' opener last time out.

Prediction

  • Bottom of the league Livingston host league leaders, heading into the weekend, Celtic in Sunday's sole Scottish Premiership fixture in West Lothian.
  • Livingston were blown away by a ruthless Hibernian in a scintillating first-half Hibees display at Easter Road, where three goals inside 22 minutes was enough for Hibs to be victorious before the international break. Against the Hoops in the Scottish Cup, before travelling to Edinburgh and taking on the capital club, Livi gave Celtic a scare in Glasgow and will be hoping to go one better for a pivotal three points.
  • Celtic are only on a longer unbeaten streak against Dundee (42) and Motherwell (31) amongst current top-flight opponents than St Johnstone (29) after they swept past Saints before the international break to top the Scottish Premiership table. After Rangers' match in Dundee was postponed, they stayed top of the pile but the pressure will be on to respond after the Gers host Hibs on Saturday.
  • Despite Livingston putting up a decent fight against them in the Scottish Cup recently, Celtic have won both league meetings without conceding a goal and will hope to continue that trend this weekend.
