Team News

Nuernberg
Hannover
  • Cristian Fiél will be forced into at least one change this weekend with Florian Hübner set to replace the injured Iván Márquez.
  • One further change is expected from Nürnberg with midfielder Jens Castrop replacing Lukas Schleimer.
  • Hannover boss Stefan Leitl will likely make two changes to the side that faced Elversberg last time out with Fabian Kunze and Nicolo Tesoldi returning to the starting XI.
  • Forward Havard Nielsen picked up an injury on the opening day last weekend and will miss the trip to Max-Morlock-Stadion.

Prediction

  • Nürnberg had no answer to the attacking might of Hansa Rostock last weekend, conceding twice in the minutes on either side of halftime as they were condemned to a 2-0 defeat at the Ostseestadion. That result is a disappointing start to Cristian Fiél's time in charge of Nürnberg and suggests that the hosts aren't out of the woods following a miserable 2022/23 season.
  • Hannover came back from a 2-0 deficit to claim a valuable point at home against the reigning 3. Liga champions last weekend, eventually sealing a 2-2 draw against Elversberg. Stefan Leitl just about kept hold of his job following a dismal end to last season. He'll be keen to get his side's first win of the season out of the way here.
