Prediction

  • We're back! Messi mania kicks off the MLS season on a standalone mid-week matchup. I'm excited to be back for another great year of MLS with more talent than ever in the league.
  • It wasn't the best preseason for Inter Miami as their trip had injuries galore and poor results. They were playing teams that were in the midst of their season, so I wouldn't take too much stock in the results. Messi had a knock but he is back and ready to go for the opener. Inter Miami is the clear-cut favorite to hoist MLS Cup this season, but injuries could detail that dream.
  • Real Salt Lake is getting back Pablo Ruiz to start the season after he missed the last couple of months last season due to injury. The Western Conference is pretty wide open this season and RSL has the makeup to make a run in the playoffs. Cristian Arango's production and Diego Luna's development will go a long way in deciding how far this group can go.
