Team News

St. Louis City
New York City FC
  • Rasmus Alm is rehabbing from mid-November surgery but is close to getting back to training.
  • Kyle Hiebert suffered a knock in training and is a doubt.
  • Tim Parker was held out of the mid-week match but could have been available if they were defending a lead late.
  • Joakim Nilsson has tension in his glute and is questionable.
  • Maxi Moralez remains out due to injury.
  • Strahinja Tanasijevic is a doubt as he is close to getting his visa.

Prediction

  • St. Louis City fielded an extremely rotated squad in Houston and lost the match 1-0, bouncing out of the Concacaf Champions Cup in the first round. This was a shock after winning the first leg 2-1 and just packing it in for the second match. In between Houston matches, St. Louis drew with RSL at CITYPARK as well. Not a great start to their sophomore season and St. Louis City will be looking to right the ship back at home.
  • New year, same old story for NYCFC who couldn't find the back of the net on the road in Charlotte, losing 1-0. Coach Nick Cushing is going to have to have his team bounce back, as they have back-to-back road matches to start the season. NYCFC's young core will have to come together early or it could be another tough season.
