Team News

Chelsea
Liverpool
  • Chelsea's once-lengthy number of absentees has reduced to as few as six in recent weeks.
  • Mauricio Pochettino could opt to remain unchanged from the draw at Manchester City last weekend.
  • Liverpool are set to be without as many as ten players for the Carabao Cup final.
  • Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez both missed the victory over Luton in midweek, but are expected to come in here.

Prediction

  • After back-to-back wins away from home last week, Chelsea held Manchester City to a draw at the Etihad last weekend.
  • The Blues, though, lost 4-1 to Liverpool at Anfield just 25 days ago.
  • Despite their growing injury list, Liverpool kept themselves on track in the Premier League with wins over Brentford and Luton in the last week.
  • The Reds will head to Wembley at least one point clear at the top of the table, after Manchester City dropped points at home to their cup final opponents a week ago.
  • It would not come as a surprise if this one went the distance, but if either side are going to win in regular time, it will surely be Liverpool.

  • This Chelsea side can't even beat the second Liverpool team. Absolutely disgrace. How many more time should we suffer with this terrible foolish coach Poch?

  • Honestly, this is the most proud as a fan I've been of any single Liverpool performance since Barcelona, on paper I don't think most people will realize how outmatched we were. I mean come on, Bradley in midfield from the 28th minute and ending the match with only van Dijk, Endo, and Diaz as regular starters

  • @sarigginsUSA Elliott was in midfield after the injury, not Bradley. Bradley played as a winger from then on. But like every Liverpool fan, you didn't even pay attention to the game.

  • Heroic Liverpool performance. Dead on their feet at 70 minutes but by sheer force of will these academy kids held on.

  • Mudryk poor defending abilities cost here

  • So far it's been a fantastic game without goals

  • Someone explain that offside?

  • @sarigginsUSA Which one? The non-existent Nicolas Jackson one?

  • @Sputnik The TV footage was pretty awful on that one, I haven't seen a definitive angle yet. That said, I read that on a technicality, ruling van Dijk's goal off was correct.

  • Liverpool's 2nd team and only has two fit forwards, still vastly better than the 1 billion Chelsea disaster

  • @sarigginsUSA And yet it's still 0-0.

  • @MEHJones And? Look at the squads available to each.

  • @sarigginsUSA I just think it's dangerous to claim things like that when it's still 0-0. Congrats on the win.

  • @sarigginsUSA Not very correct to call it 2nd team, only Endo, Elliot, Bradley are regularly on the bench, the rest have 10+ appearances this season in the main squad of EPL matches.

  • @tar88s just double checked and Endo has 11 EPL games in starting XI this season.

  • @tar88s Oh and Mac Allister*

  • @tar88s Robertson, van Dijk, Konate, Endo are all currently best XI, but for most of this season Diaz has played really because of Jota/Nunez being out, although in fairness he's really come back into form after understandably going through what he did in the fall. Gakpo, Elliott, Gravenberch are all first team quality, but none are first choice and I didn't really count Gravenberch since he went off injured after half an hour. Half the team and the entire bench were second choice, and by minutes played, I'm pretty sure well over 2/3 were from 2nd choice players.

  • @sarigginsUSA Wrong. Numerous game this season Klopp has chosen Diaz ahead of Jota Núñez and Gakpo. He just prefers him. Probably because of his pressing and high work rate. I think he values that more than anything.

  • @Terry ahead of Nunez, a couple time, yes, ahead of Jota only when he’s been injured. When everyone has been fit, Jota and Nunez are preferred in big games

  • @sarigginsUSA That's wrong. I get that you don't like Diaz but he's the least benched player of the front 3 after Salah. Show me a single game where jota is playing while Diaz is on the bench. It never happens, and certainly not in any big game.

  • Under 2.5 goals

  • Palmer +210 / Diaz +300 To Score Anytime

  • over 2.5

  • 1-4 LIVERPOOL

  • 2-3

  • 2-1 CHELSEA

  • 1-2 or 2-2

  • Why so surely? (Joker voice)

  • @Sputnik Sack Tuchel!

  • @StickandMove Wrong match.

  • @Sputnik Klopp to Bayern, Tuchel to Sheffield United

  • @Sputnik Hahaha

  • @StickandMove Tuchel to Barcelona, Klopp to a random German village as shepherd.

  • Liverpool to win in 90min

  • Over 2.5 goals in the game.

  • There have been 45 goals in Chelseas last 13 matches.
