Team News

Motherwell
Dundee FC
  • Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell named two changes to the Steelmen side that beat St Mirren 2-1 at Fir Park, before they were victorious at Easter Road against Hibernian by the same scoreline prior to the international break.
  • Aston Oxborough continued in goal behind Paul McGinn, Liam Gordon and Kofi Balmer who took the suspended Dan Casey's place. Stephen O'Donnell remained at right wing-back as Ewan Wilson kept his place on the left hand-side of midfield.
  • Davor Zdravkovski and Andy Halliday started in the middle of the park alongside Lennon Miller. Zach Robinson was joined in attack by Apostolos Stamatelopoulos - who scored his first goal for the Well - as Moses Ebiye made way in Edinburgh.
  • Dundee manager Tony Docherty made one change from the Dee team that lost 2-1 at Dens Park to Aberdeen, before they blew a two goal-lead as Kilmarnock left it late to defeat Dundee at Dens 3-2 before the international break.
  • Jon McCracken continued behind a back three of Billy Koumetio, Clark Robertson and Antonio Portales. Ziyad Larkeche, who fired the Dee in front, continued at left wing-back with Ethan Ingram at right wing-back.
  • Mo Sylla was sent off so misses out this weekend, but was joined in midfield by Lyall Cameron and Scott Tiffoney who replaced Sammy Baybrooke. Curtis Main came in to partner Simon Murray in attack against Killie last time out.

Prediction

  • Motherwell have only lost away from home in the Scottish Premiership so far this season, whilst Dundee have only won at home in the Scottish Premiership so far this season.
  • The Well have won four of their last five Scottish Premiership matches, more victories than in their previous 11 beforehand, as they clinched just a third win at Easter Road in their last 14 visits. Currently sat in fourth, it's been a superb start for the Steelmen who will hope to go from strength to strength before assessing where they can finish in the Scottish Premiership table this season.
  • Dundee have won just one of their eight Scottish Premiership matches so far this season, against Hearts at home, and one of their last 15 in total if you include fixtures towards the back end of last season. After such a successful season, where the Dee incredibly finished top six, the highs of the 2023/24 campaign as a newly-promoted outfit seem to be slipping further and further away.
  • Dundee haven't beaten Motherwell in a league match since a 3-0 success over the Steelmen at Dens Park back in November 2021, so the Well should find a way to win again this weekend.
