Prediction

  • It's been a tough week for Arsenal coming into this game. Many would have expected them to get three points against Everton but they ended up drawing 0-0. They then lost midweek in the UWCL as they were defeated 5-2 by Bayern Munich with former Chelsea player Pernille Harder getting a hat-trick.
  • Chelsea didn't have a game last weekend due to UWCL scheduling and they won 3-2 in the UWCL against Real Madrid.
  • Arsenal are unbeaten in their last four home games against Chelsea but haven't won back-to-back since June 2013. This fixture last season ended up in a 4-1 win for Arsenal. The other meeting that season ended up with Chelsea winning 3-1 and they will be aiming to win back-to-back games for the first time since January 2020.
  • Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor seems to have hit the ground running at Chelsea with two wins in the league and one in the Champions League. She will be looking to become only the fourth manager in league history to win their first three games in charge. The other manager that achieved this were David Parker with Birmingham in 2011, current West Ham manager Rehanne Skinner with Spurs in 2011 and current Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall in 2021.
  • It looks likely that she will achieve this as Arsenal look to be really struggling.
