Team News

Auxerre
PSG
  • It seems that Coach Wallemme has settled on 4-2-3-1 as his preferred formation. The duo of Eduard Cisse and Georges Mandjeck will protect the settled back line.
  • Up front Dennis Oliech is the star man with Alain Traore playing behind him.
  • It’s on the wings where there could be changes. Omar Kossoko and Olivier Kapo have started of late and one of them could replace Kamel Chafni who had a poor game against Lyon.
  • Left back Amadou Sidibe underwent knee surgery this week and will miss around six months as he recovers.
  • Sidibe joins Ndinga, Berthod, Coulibaly and Sanogo on the sidelines.
  • Following his sending off against Marseille Momo Sissoko has been suspended for three games
  • Guillaume Hoarau will be suspended for one game and will miss this weekend’s fixture.
  • With Hoarau's suspension it is very likely that Carlo Ancelotti will continue to play without a recognised striker.

Prediction

  • This could be a potential banana skin for title chasing PSG, though the likes of Jeremy Menez, Nene and Javier Pastore should prove too much for an Auxerre side in danger of sliding into Ligue 2.
  • The capital club will be in a good mood following the Classique victory over Marseille but watching them then lose to Montpellier will put a little bit of pressure on PSG to pick up all three points this weekend. Burgundy is not an easy place to go no matter how poor Auxerre are playing.
  • Jean-Guy Wallemme is still trying to find his best XI and best playing style, one suspects he won’t find out much more playing against the talented Parisians, however a spirited performance and a desire to fight to the death is all the new manager can hope for.
