Team News

Real Madrid
Espanyol
  • Doubts remain over the fitness of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.
  • The latter will definitely play however, given that he is one goal away from claiming the Golden Boot.
  • Pizzi returns from suspension and will play from the start.
  • Cristian Alfonso is injured and will miss out.

Prediction

  • Real Madrid do not have anything to play for in this game, but Cristiano Ronaldo does. Should the Portuguese score, he will win the Golden Boot. For this reason, despite not being 100% fit, he will play and he will expect his teammates to lift their game in order to help him.
  • In their last three games, Madrid have picked up only two points. It is a dismal run that has seen them relinquish their hopes of winning the title. Yet, at home, on the last day of the season and seven days before the Champions League final, they will want to put on a good show and finish the season with a win, without taking too many risks.
  • Espanyol actually snatched a draw in this fixture last season, so they will know they can get a result. In addition, against the big boys in the league, Espanyol always lift their game. They will be keen to spoil Madrid's final day sending off and another draw is not beyond them.

  • Where are all the Benzema haters? This guy contributes so much to the team. His passing is absolutely terrific and his positioning as well. he may not be in form score wise but the people who were screaming for him to get sold got a reality check when he's not playing.

  • @Lechiffre10 good player but he's not world class.

  • This real madrid team is too reliant on the beast cr7, once he is not playing they look very match ordinary and predictable. They lost his form and their medals

  • does anybody know why alonso isn't in the team? injury or something?

  • @Bodyferr Prepare Illialamendi for the CL final

  • Also the fuss about Ronaldo's Golden Boot.. this is made way more serious than it is for sure. I am quite sure that even player as ambitious as Ronaldo would rather participate in CL than aggravate his injury in a pointless game. Even though Carlo said CR should be fine. But still, it is kinda disrespectful to consider him playing only for personal glory.

  • I have quite hard time to believe that Xabi and Khedira are playing at same time, especially from kick-off. I'd rather guess that di Maria would be played instead of Xabi.

  • Need a thumping victory to boost our plummetting confidence. Illara should step up.

  • @Excelsior_rmcf Seriously we depend a lot on how illara or sami performs.

  • Haha Madrid!

  • 3-0

  • Real Madrid to WIN---> 1-0

  • Imagine spending over 1 billion and finishing 3rd. LOL

  • Hala Madrid

  • Its not over until its over.

  • Espanyol could cause an upset here.

  • RISE

  • Hala Madrid !

  • 6-1 Hala Madrid
