Team News

Celta Vigo
Rayo Vallecano
  • Michael Krohn-Delhi and Fabian Orellana are available for selection after serving their respective bans, with the former expected to slot into defensive midfield, while the latter may have a free role in behind the striker.
  • Augusto Fernandez should start in the middle of the park, but is an injury doubt, with Alex Lopez, Borja and Sergi Gomez candidates to replace the midfielder if necessary.
  • Santi Mina should retain his place out on the right-hand side, with Joaquin Larrivey expected to come into the side at the expense of Joaquin Larrivey.
  • Cristian Alvarez misses out in goal due to injury, with David Cobeno taking up the gloves for Rayo in his absence.
  • Raul Baena is another continued absentee, with Mohamed Fatau expected to partner Roberto Trashorras in central midfield as an immediate result.
  • Adrian Embarba and Gael Kakuta should retain their places out wide, providing ammunition for the physical presence of Manucho up top.

Prediction

  • While the visitors sank to a commendable 2-0 defeat against Real Madrid last time out, Celta Vigo needed a stoppage-time equaliser to snatch a point from struggling Granada, with Paco Jemez's side continuing to show strong second half of the season form.
  • Celta haven't won in their last three home matches, losing to both Athletic Club and Barcelona, as well as drawing disappointingly with Elche. With a win this weekend, however, Eduardo Berizzo's men could climb above Rayo in the table.
  • Rayo have take nine points from the last available 12, with the Madrid-based club managing to tighten up their leaky defence of late. The away side have only conceded four goals in their last four La Liga outings.
