L'AJ Auxerre - who have not competed in France's top-tier since the 2011/2012 season - endured their share of difficulties since that period and missed yet another opportunity to return to Ligue 1 this campaign. They are on a 7-match winless streak coming into the final, having decided to focus on this clash since they managed to overcome Guingamp in the semi-finals last month.
The Ligue 1 champions, meanwhile, ended their season with success over Reims at the weekend, in the process extending their domestic winning streak to 11 matches. Les Parisiens stepped up their game in recent weeks and head into this match with hopes of lifting the last domestic piece of silverware missing to the club since the change of ownership.
PSG would become the first French side to win all four domestic competitions in a single season should they win on Saturday evening, and Laurent Blanc's men are strong favourites to do so against a well-prepared but feeble AJ Auxerre side.
