Leicester star reigns supreme in Premier League Team of the Week

Leicester shocked Manchester City to run out 3-1 winners and strengthen their lead at the top of the Premier League to five points in Saturday’s early kick-off, and while Riyad Mahrez stole the headlines for his sublime solo effort, his performances wasn’t good enough to steal the limelight in the Premier League Team of the Week.

Instead, the honour of the highest rated player for the weekend went to his teammate and two-time Premier League champions Robert Huth, who has been in fantastic form for the Foxes this season.

The tall German central defender scored twice in their rout against City at the Etihad to take his tally to three league goals in his last five matches. In fact, before that, it took him 87 league games to score three goals spread over five seasons.

Huth wasn’t just an aerial threat from set pieces, but was superb, alongside captain Wes Morgan, in nullifying the threat of Sergio Aguero for the majority of the match until he evaded their attentions to head in a late consolation.

Indeed, the German completed three tackles and made 9 clearances to add to his two goals from three shots at the Etihad.
