Nacer Chadli has revealed he left Tottenham to join West Brom in order to find regular first-team football.
The Belgium international joined West Brom over the summer in a club-record deal worth £13m and has flourished under Tony Pulis’ watch.
Chadli, 27, spent three years at Tottenham but spent that time in a constant battle to retain a starting spot under Mauricio Pochettino and insists he left White Hart Lane for guaranteed first team football.
“My priority is to play every week, to find consistency and to have a manager who believes in me,” Chadli told Sport/Foot Magazine, via Sky Sports.
“I immediately had a good feeling [about West Brom]. I wanted to stay in the Premier League. It’s the most watched league in the world.”
“It really is the best playing here: the intensity, the overall quality, the fact anyone can beat anyone; we saw it with Leicester last year. It really is an incredible league.”
In seven league appearances for West Brom this season Chadli has already scored more league goals (4) than he managed in 29 appearances for Tottenham last season (3).
Not only that, but he has already matched his tally for assists (2) and is already one of their most important players, with only Gareth McAuley (7.17) securing a higher rating than the Belgian (6.97).
