Turkish giants Galatasaray sounded out the possibility of signing Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer, according to the Swede’s agent Mino Raiola.
Ibrahimovic, 33, has been heavily linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 champions this summer and, according to Raiola, Galatasaray made an informal enquiry for his services.
“Galatasaray want Ibrahimovic,” fotomac.com.tr quotes Raiola as saying. "However, they didn’t go as far as making a formal bid. I got an offer for Ibra on behalf of Galatasaray.
“I don’t know if they were authorised, or just intermediaries in France. They came on behalf of Galatasaray, they talked to me, they got some more information. I can tell you now, that’s all it was.”
Ibrahimovic is one of the most revered strikers on the planet and would be a real coup for Galatasaray, despite his age.
Injuries restricted the Sweden international to just 24 appearances in Ligue 1 last season, but he still managed to weigh in with a direct hand in 25 goals (19 goals + 6 assists) for PSG and earned himself a position in the WhoScored team of the season for the third year in a row.
