Louis van Gaal will be sacked if Manchester United fail to overcome Shrewsbury on Monday night, writes the Daily Star on Sunday.
The Dutchman is under huge pressure to turn United's fortunes around, with a 2-1 Europa League defeat to FC Midtjylland heightening speculation that he will be relieved of his duties sooner rather than later.
Van Gaal's position at Old Trafford will reportedly become untenable if United don't overcome the League 1 side at New Meadow.
It isn't just the experienced manager whose position is under threat either, with Ed Woodward expected to be shown the exit door if United continue to flounder.
Reports continue to link Jose Mourinho with a switch to Old Trafford, with the former Chelsea boss eager to take charge of United, while Ryan Giggs is another option to remain at the helm until the end of the season if Van Gaal is sacked.
