Manchester United bump up Pogba’s asking price in reaction to Raiola’s comments
Mino Raiola’s play to force Manchester United’s hand has backfired as the Red Devils have now increased Paul Pogba’s asking price to as much as £180m, claims The Daily Mail.
Raiola reiterated last week Pogba’s desire to leave United and confirmed he is working on securing a blockbuster move away from Old Trafford this summer.
United were left furious with Raiola’s comments before head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer warned the club will not be bullied into selling players against their will.
The Premier League giants have taken a step further in their bid to keep Pogba for next season by demanding even more money from potential suitors.
While United have made it clear they do not want to sell Pogba all summer, there was a feeling a bid in the region of £150m would be enough to prise the midfielder away from Old Trafford.
However, annoyed by Raiola’s attempt to engineer a move away for his client, United have raised their valuation of the 2018 World Cup winner in a serious blow to Pogba’s hopes of leaving.
Real Madrid and Juventus have been heavily linked with a move for Pogba this summer but both balked at United’s original asking price.
The France international played a direct hand in 22 goals in 35 league appearances last season (13 goals, nine assists) and won the WhoScored Man of the Match award on seven occasions.
