The agent of Keita Balde has revealed Lazio have reached an agreement with AC Milan for his client but they will weigh up their options before deciding on a move.
Milan have wasted no time in making a real statement of intent in the transfer window this summer after wrapping up deals to sign Ricardo Rodriguez, Mateo Musacchio and Franck Kessie.
However, Vincenzo Montella’s side, who have new Chinese investors, are not interested in stopping there and are now looking to bolster their offensive options with the signing of Keita.
The Senegal international, who will only have 12 months remaining on his current Lazio deal this summer, enjoyed the best season of his career in 2016/17 and his agent, Roberto Calenda, has confirmed the pacey forward is free to leave Simone Inzaghi’s side this summer.
“After a few months apart, we met with the president [of Lazio],” he told Sky Sport Italia, via Football Italia. “They communicated to us that they have reached an agreement with Milan, so we realised that he is on the market. Now we will make our evaluations.
“It’s difficult to know what the price is when it comes to Lazio. We talked about many things with president Claudio Lotito, but there has never been a concrete offer of a renewal.”
It was thought that Keita would prefer a move to Juventus when there were suggestions Max Allegri’s side were monitoring his situation at Lazio but the 22-year-old is no longer a target for the Serie A champions.
Keita scored 16 goals in Serie A last season, six more than he managed in his three previous league campaigns combined for Inzaghi’s side (10).
