Manchester United forward set to be named in England squad
Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford will be named in Gareth Southgate’s senior England squad on Tuesday, reports Sky Sports.
Rashford, 19, was expected to return to the England Under-21s as part of their preparation for the European Championships in the summer but the United striker is now required by Southgate with a number of first-team options struggling with injury.
Injuries have ruled Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney out of contention for upcoming matches against Germany and Lithuania, while Daniel Sturridge has not played for Liverpool in over a month due to illness and injury.
Rashford has struggled to reproduce the same kind of performances that saw him burst onto the scene midway through last season but is still thought to have a huge future ahead of him.
The United starlet hasn’t scored in the Premier League since netting against Leicester back in September, although has been a regular squad player for Jose Mourinho since then.
