Tottenham identify Danny Rose replacement

Tottenham will move for Fulham teenager Ryan Sessegnon if Danny Rose leaves the club, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Rose has been heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham since criticising the club’s transfer strategy in the summer.

The 27-year-old has been axed from Tottenham’s last two Premier League matchday squads and that has only intensified suggestions he will move on at the end of the season.

Manchester United are interested in signing Rose and that has raised speculation suggesting Luke Shaw would move in the other direction to reunite with Mauricio Pochettino.

However, it has now emerged that Tottenham will rekindle their interest in 17-year-old Sessegnon if Rose does end up leaving.

Pochettino’s side were heavily linked with a move for the Fulham starlet last season but the England U19 international opted to sign his first professional contract with the Cottagers over the summer.

Sessegnon has started 34 league games since the start of last season and earlier this month became the youngest player to score a Championship hat-trick since Dele Alli managed the feat for MK Dons in September 2014.
