Sevilla have announced the arrival of Spartak Moscow winger Quincy Promes on a long-term deal.
The Spanish side have agreed to pay the Russian giants a reported €21m fee for Promes’ services.
Promes was heavily linked with a move to Southampton last summer but Sevilla have offered the Holland international with a route to one of Europe’s major leagues.
The 26-year-old first caught Sevilla’s attention when the winger tore them to pieces in a 5-1 demolition during the group stage of the Champions League last season.
Promes played a direct hand in four of the goals (two goals, two assists) during the rout and ended the match with a perfect WhoScored 10 rating.
He has creating the most goalscoring chances in the Russian Premier League this season (17), while scoring and assisting 83 goals in 115 league games (59 goals, 24 assists) for Lokomotiv Moscow.
