Cristiano Ronaldo insists he plans to see out the remaining two years of his contract at Real Madrid before deciding his next career move.
The Portugal international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Spanish capital and it has been widely reported that he will leave the club at the end of the season.
Ronaldo, who turned 31 last week, still has more than two years left to run on his current deal with Madrid but has reiterated he has no intentions of leaving them before then.
“I want to stay here for two more years, and then we’ll see about the future. That’s the contract that I’ve got,” Ronaldo said at a Marca award on Monday where he received the Pichichi trophy for finishing as the top goal scorer in La Liga last season (48).
“Now what I have to do is try to win trophies and the Champions League once again.”
Ronaldo endured another difficult afternoon away from home in the league at the weekend where he failed to register a shot on target for just the third time in 23 league appearances this season.
In fact, the Madrid No.7 hasn’t scored a goal from open play away from home in La Liga since October 24, 2015 (vs Celta Vigo).
