Antonio Conte happy at Chelsea amid Inter talk

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte insists there has been no approach from Inter to become their manager next season and hopes to remain at Stamford Bridge for many seasons to come.

Reports had emerged suggesting Inter’s new Chinese owners were prepared to break the bank to bring Conte back to Italy after just one season in the Premier League.

Conte has all but secured Chelsea the Premier League title in his first campaign since stepping down as Italy manager after Euro 2016 and Inter are desperate for the 47-year-old to lead their resurgence.

However, the Italian has rejected suggestions there is a mammoth offer on the table from the Serie A giants and insists his only focus is Chelsea.

“I am very happy for this experience because for me and my family it is incredible,” he told the London Evening Standard after being crowned the Manager of the Year at the London Football Awards on Thursday night.

“For sure, in this season my wife and my daughter stayed in Italy but I hope they come and stay here also because I need them.

“Yes I hope [I can stay for many years]. I am pleased for the players because they showed great commitment to fight for the title.

“The most important thing is the success of the club, the players and the manager. I was sure to arrive here and also to compete with other good managers.”

Chelsea are currently 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League and have all but secured the Premier League title with three months of the season remaining. Conte would become the third Italian manager to win the Premier League in the last seven seasons.
