Club Brugge boss backs Arsenal target to leave this summer

Club Brugge boss Philippe Clement believes star in the making Emmanuel Dennis will leave the club this summer.

The 22-year-old grabbed the headlines for all the right reasons when he netted twice in their 2-2 draw at Real Madrid in October in a man of the match display at the Bernabeu.

His performances caught the attention of a host of Premier League sides, with Arsenal among those monitoring his progress for the champions.

Wolves and Newcastle, too, are keeping tabs on the Nigerian, with the former looking to bring in a replacement for Patrick Cutrone, who left for Fiorentina in January.

Dennis also netted in Club Brugge's 1-1 Europa League draw with Manchester United in February to increase his reputation.

And interested parties will have been boosted by Clement admitting Dennis is likely to depart the club.

"It is very likely that Dennis will leave. He can also count on a lot of interest. It is the time for him to take a new step," Clement told La Dernière Heure.

Dennis, who has scored five league goals this season, is rumoured to be valued at around £22m by league leaders Club Brugge.
