AC Milan poised to make second Atalanta raid

The agent of Atalanta defender Andrea Conti has revealed they have reached a deal with AC Milan and now Vincenzo Montella’s side must now agree a price in order to complete the transfer.

AC Milan have already signed Franck Kessie from Atalanta this summer and are now attempting to pull off another deal with Gian Piero Gasperini’s side to complete their fourth signing of the window.

Conti’s agent was pictured entering Milan’s head offices during the club’s unveiling of Ricardo Rodriguez from Wolfsburg on Thursday evening and now he has confirmed personal terms have been agreed.

“I met with Milan yesterday,” Mario Giuffredi told Raio Crc, via Football Italia. “We’ve found a deal, he wants to go to Milan. It’s closed, at least four us. Atalanta and Milan have a good relationship, and they already talked for Kessie.”

As well as the arrivals of Kessie and Rodriguez, Milan have also signed Villarreal defender Mateo Musacchio and are waiting to see whether Keita Balde wants to join their ambitious project after agreeing a fee with Lazio.

Conti, who can play as a left wing-back and right wing-back of a back three, enjoyed a sublime season for Serie A’s surprise package Atalanta in 2016/17. He scored or assisted 13 goals from his wing back role (eight goals, five assists) and has even worked his way into contention with the Italy national team.
