Chelsea have completed the signing of Pedro from Barcelona for £21m, the Premier League champions have announced.
Pedro, 28, has put pen to paper on a four-year deal and is Chelsea’s second summer in less than a week following the arrival of Augsburg left-back Baba Rahman.
The Spain international had been expected to join Manchester United, but United pulled their interest after Chelsea re-entered the race for the speedy winger.
“I am very happy to be here. I am very excited to start my adventure at Chelsea and I am here to keep winning titles,” Pedro told the club’s official website.
“Thanks to the club and the supporters for giving me the opportunity to put the blue shirt on"
Pedro was largely forced to play second fiddle to a glittering array of forward talent that has swept through the doors at the Nou Camp since he emerged from the reserves in 2008. Since then, only Lionel Messi (257) had scored more goals than Pedro (58) for Barcelona in La Liga.
