Juventus poised to make £31m bid for Liverpool midfielder

Juventus are preparing a bid in the region of £31m for Liverpool midfielder Emre Can, reports Tuttosport.

Can has entered the final 12 months of his current deal at Anfield and reports emerged over the weekend suggesting the Germany international has agreed personal terms with the Serie A giants.

Jurgen Klopp has no interest in selling Can and Liverpool are still hopeful of keeping the 23-year-old, although his future will have to be resolved this summer as he can leave for nothing in next year.

Can is not a guaranteed starter for Klopp when everyone is available and the club’s pursuit of RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita would only restrict Can’s first-team involvement further.

Juventus have identified Can as the perfect long-term replacement for fellow countryman Sami Khedira and are determined to land him this summer in a deal worth around £31m or for nothing next summer.

Only Christian Benteke (81) committed more fouls than Can (70) in the Premier League last season.
