Tottenham beat Chelsea to signing of Fernando Llorente
Tottenham have announced they have signed Swansea striker Fernando Llorente.
The 32-year-old striker was expected to reunite with Antonio Conte at Chelsea but the reigning Premier League champions have been served another blow in the transfer market.
After missing out of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool, Tottenham are the third Premier League side to sign a player over Chelsea this summer.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side had a £12m bid for Llorente accepted earlier today and have now wrapped up a deal for the Spanish striker on a two-year deal until June 2019.

Llorente is the second player Tottenham have signed on deadline day following the arrival of Paris Saint-Germain right-back Serge Aurier.
Of the 61 players to score at least 10 Premier League goals since the start of 2015/16, Llorente has the best conversion rate (28.8%).
