Mousa Dembele hopes to leave Tottenham in January and earn a blockbuster move to the Chinese Super League, claims The Sun.
The Belgium international has entered the final 12 months of his existing deal and Tottenham will not match his wage demands.
Dembele is regarded as one of the finest central midfielders in the Premier League but has to be carefully managed in order to avoid injury.
The 31-year-old was linked with a move away in the summer but no teams around Europe were interested in matching Tottenham’s £25m valuation.
Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan were interested in signing Dembele at the start of the year and will rekindle their interest in January.
Beijing Guoan are managed by former Bayer Leverkusen boss Roger Schmidt and have prised Jonathan Viera, Jonathan Soriano and Cedric Bakambu from Europe since the start of last year.
Schmidt’s side also have Brazil international Renato Augusto and hope Dembele can play alongside the former Corinthians midfielder next year.
Beijing Guoan are prepared to offer Dembele wages of £192,000-a-week in order to prise him away from Tottenham, but it remains to be seen whether Mauricio Pochettino’s side will sanction the deal.
Of the 97 players that have attempted at least 75 dribbles over the last three Premier League campaigns, Dembele has the best success rate (84.6%).
