Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo will have to fend off competition from Barcelona duo Lionel Messi and Neymar to retain his crown as the Fifa World Player of the Year.
Fifa have announced the trio as the finalists from an original 23-man shortlist, for which the winner will be announced in the annual ceremony in January.
Ronaldo and Messi have shared the last seven titles, with Ronaldo the holder of the last two, while this is the first time Neymar has made the final three.
When taking into league and Champions League performances into account since the turn of the year, Messi has garnered the highest WhoScored rating (8.79), followed by teammate Neymar (8.35) and Ronaldo (7.86).
